Above are a few cycles that I made for a side project on my spare time. The project concept is a side-scrolling fighter featuring cat characters.

“Bird House” was inspired by my daughter asking if we could build a bird house and this was what I envisioned happening. It was also an experiment of what kind of film I could create in approximately one week’s worth of work. Storyboarding, modeling, rigging, animating, and compositing each took about a day.

“Open Door” is a project that I have worked on for close to a year. It follows a young girl as she finds herself going on an adventure that leads her away from the life she knows. Inspired by Edwin Abbott Abbott’s book, “Flatland: A Romance of Many Dimensions” and my time as a teacher.

During a trip to the mall, a little girl finds a coin operated car and imagines herself as a daring race car driver. Things quickly spin out of control as reality interferes with the imaginary.
This animation and all assets were created in six months using Maya (rendered with Arnold). Texture for the main character created in Mudbox. Rigs created with Advanced Skeleton.
